The Podcast For Displaced BelieversIt shouldn't be this hard. To seek God. To serve God. To share God. But it is. Our churches are museums of past faith and monuments to human ego. Local bodies compete for members and resources with self-righteous disdain. Consumer-minded members seek to be served rather than to serve. The world is dying. Homelessness. Hopelessness. Helplessness. Christ came to seek and to save that which is lost; to bring life and life more abundant. That which we do unto the least of those among us, we do unto Him. And we do so very little with so much. The church is in crisis. Who are we? What are we doing? Who is it for? Christ said He would build His church and the gates of Hell would not prevail against it. For three centuries it had no building, no by-laws and no budget. Today we'd give all we had for an drop their zeal. Christians are disillusioned. We have no Creed. No Community. No compassion. The disciples were men of scripture. They called Christ teacher. They shared lives and supported one another against a hostile religion and country. They cared for the poor, the widowed, and the orphaned. We can start over. Without cathedrals. Without ceremony. Without conflict. Let's start with scripture. The gospel. The power of God unto Salvation. Let's return to a lifestyle of prayer that is more about the Kingdom than us. Let's worship. No praise bands. No choirs. No fog machines. Just us and God. Radio Free Christianity is a gathering place for believers and seekers. People who long for something deeper than denominations. A thoughtful Christianity. It's about a lifestyle. About being transformed by the renewing of our minds. We're not building a brand, we're building disciples. One podcast at a time. |
